Center for Biomedical Research (CBR)

The primary aim of CBR will be to conduct basic and translational research that will lead to new application of physics for diagnosis and treatment diseases. This research lab is outlined to use quantitative, physical science-inspired approaches to problems of the life sciences. It is an interdisciplinary approach to handle most challenging such as imaging biological systems, biophysics, medical physics, biomedical engineering, theoretical and computational modeling of complex brain diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s. Also, analysis of different brain activity like Electroencephalography (EEG), Coherence and Correlation functions, Evoked Response Potential (ERP) and other field requiring physical and technological approaches to medical or biological questions. By applying our challenging research, we want to provide modern healthcare tool to the common people in our country for better diagnosis and treatment. To train new generations of medical physicists, who will conduct research, provide professional physics service, and teach in health care facilities, laboratories, and training centers throughout the world, continuing a tradition of excellence in science and service. To provide core instruction in medical physics to students throughout AIUB campus, residents, other students, and worldwide, required to conduct high quality multidisciplinary research.

The objectives of the Centre which are as follows:
Conduct basic and translational research.

Provide training and certification courses

Develop solution for Biomedical applications

Create interdisciplinary platform for innovative biomedical products
